I'm shopping around to find an affordable insurance for my Kymco People 150. Now that I no longer own a car AAA, my current provider, will not let me insure my scoot . Any suggestions?

We have had great success with Progressive. Worth a try.

I've got Progressive too. I've never made a claim, but I'm very happy with the service I've received and their rates and offerings.

Positive:
+ About half the price of the only other big-name insurer I found that does MCs in Michigan (Allstate? State Farm? I can't remember).
+ Towing coverage is $10/year!
+ Claims of under a certain amount ($500, I think?) are guaranteed not to raise your rates.

Negative:
+ I only found out about the small claims thing when they sent me my renewal notice... after I paid for my own teensy repair. :P They could stand to send out a little more information, since you're not sitting in front of the agent as you make your purchase.
+ The key fob insurance card was blank after about 2 weeks in my pocket.

ps: congrats on car-free! It takes some getting used to (and in my case a bit of help from a wonderful girlfriend), but it has the potential to make you much, much happier.

I'm going to call Progressive this afternoon. I grew up in Paris, doing without a car is a first nature for me. The car went with da lady--at least I get to keep the house. Thanks for the prompt and thorough answer.
Michel.

+1 for Progressive. I have no probs with them. I've never made a claim, though.

We have. Twice, I believe. Owen got a brand new scooter out of it. We've been very happy with them.
